There are several ways to refer to Create Within Counselling.​ You can contact the service via mobile, text, email or this website. If you ring the mobile, leave a message with your contact details and the best time of day to be reached. Please understand - it can take 24 hours to return contact.
Counselling: how to access it, what it costs?
Private referrals
Clients can access services privately with an AMHSW without the need to obtain a referral. This does mean that you will pay full fee for services. A parent/carer is welcome to make an appointment for children and young people.
Session fees are $160.00. Sessions are 50 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged.
GP and Specialist Referrals
Clients can obtain a referral through their GP or Specialist Medical Practitioner. This includes referrals for children and young people. Generally at your doctor visit a mental health treatment plan (MHTP) will be completed. A MHTP lets you claim up to 10 individual with a mental health professional each calendar year. (available for children, young people and adults). This process provides eligibility for a Medicare rebate for sessions. Your doctor can then refer you directly to this this service or you can contact this service at your convenience.

Session fee are $160.00. Medicare rebate is $85.20. The rebate can be processed in this office upon payment of your fee.
Private Health Fund Referrals
AMHSW services are recognised by many private health insurance funds such as Bupa, HCF and Teachers Health (including UniHealth and Nurses and Midwives Health). Benefits paid by these funds vary depending on the level of ancillary cover and your eligibility. Please check your personal Health Fund to confirm reimbursement and eligibility.

Workcover, EAP, NDIS
Please contact Create Within to check if these services are covered for your personal needs. Service fees vary according to different third party funders.
What do I bring with me to the session?

Please bring your referral (if you have one)

Medicare card (for children and young people - you will need the Medicare card of the child and the parent/carer in charge of child)

Any relevant documents (specialist reports etc) that may be helpful in your psychological assessment.

Payment option - eftpos and cash available in office. Invoiced payments are also available.

Please feel free to bring along a support person should this make you more comfortable. ​

If the session is for your child or young person, please bring the above documents, Parents/carers are welcome in the session with your child. Children and young people can bring along something of comfort (softie or small toy). As we may use different art mediums and movement in the session - comfortable clothes that can get a bit messy are best.
Please Note: 24 hours notice is required for all appointment cancellations or missed appointments other than emergency situations. Fees will be charged and payment required prior to the next session being booked.
